Pair of Carl Auböck Model #4636 Brass Bookends
Werkstätte Carl Auböck
Carl Auböck
Pair of Carl Auböck model #4636 brass bookends.
Designed in the 1950s, this refined and sculptural pair of bookends is executed in patinated brass with a polished brass inner-facing side. Each piece bears the "Auböck" stamp.
Produced by Carl Auböck IV in the original Auböck Werkstätte in the 7th district of Vienna using the same exacting standards, high-quality materials, original molds and techniques of his legendary grandfather. Auböck's design career was long and varied, reaching its pinnacle of prestige at the Triennale di Milano in 1954, where he received four gold medals in recognition of his iconic work
Price is for the pair. Available in unlimited quantities. Local pickup available. Out of stock lead time 2-3 weeks or more. Inventory availability subject to change without notice.
Please note that only one representative example of each item is shown in the images. Finish varies from item to item due to the handmade nature of their fabrication and due to the unique chemical patination process, which is meant to simulate 80-100 years of exposure of brass to sunlight. Polished brass will patinate over time; shine can be restored with polish if desired.
