The story of Danish Modern begins in 1908 when Carl Hansen opened his first workshop. Now in its third generation as a family run business, Carl Hansen & Son maintains its legacy through skillful work with the highest quality materials, sustainably producing Danish design classics by past icons and influential new designers.

Originally designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in 1944, only ten of the 'VLA61 Monarch' chairs were initially fabricated. Its minimalist design, functionalist brass details and elegant interplay between soft upholstery and the carefully handcrafted frame have been meticulously brought to life in this Carl Hansen & Son re-edition. Available in several variants, selection of fabric or leather upholstery, as well as with option for COM/COL for an additional fee.

Price is per item. Available in unlimited quantities with frame in oak soap, oak oil, oak white oil, or mahogany oil. Upholstery in Baru fabric, choice of 2 leather groups, or COL/COM. Kindly specify fabric or leather color when ordering.

Wood is a natural material and may vary depending on the environment (light, humidity, heat). Due to the organic nature of the material, oak and eucalyptus vary considerably in tone and pattern within the same log. Some assembly required.
