1940s Perforated Brass Conical Ceiling Lamp Attributed to Paavo Tynell
1940s Perforated Brass Conical Ceiling Lamp Attributed to Paavo Tynell
This sculptural semi-flush mount executed in perforated brass with an attractive patina. Highly characteristic of Tynell's iconic work for Taito Oy in the late 1940s or early 1950, with triangle pinhole perforation pattern on the shade. An incredibly refined piece that is quintessentially Finnish in its conception and execution. Unmarked. A ball joint on the stem allows the shade to rotate. Opaline glass diffuser provides soft lighting.
Accommodates 1x 60W equivalent standard medium base (e26) LED bulb (LED only). Ceiling plate measures 5 inches in diameter. Professionally rewired for US electrical and for mounting over standard US j-box. Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Contact us to facilitate.
Some age appropriate scuffs, dings, nicks, patina, and wear as largely shown and noted only for accuracy.
