For centuries, famed Hida artisans in Gifu prefecture have played a role in Japan's woodworking culture, crafting iconic bentwood furniture from sustainable local forests. Established in 1920, Hida Sangyo builds upon the Japanese heritage of craftsmanship and sustainability from their headquarters in Gifu, which remains one of Japan's leading furniture production areas. In addition to offering iconic designs from midcentury masters like Sori Yanagi and Enzo Mari, Hida produces contemporary creations from international designers such as Atsuhiko Misawa and atelier oï.

First introduced in 2011 by designer Motomi Kawakami, the Seoto series soon began collecting international recognition and design awards. Defined by its distinctive integrated backrest, arms and back legs, the chair is as comfortable as it is streamlined. The arms are carved from solid wood and designed with a generous spread to promote a smooth entry and exit. Coupled with the carved seat, the Seoto collection provides a beautiful silhouette. Please note that the wood's grain, color and features vary from item to item due to the organic nature of the material.

Price per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in choice of walnut, oak or beech and paired with a natural oil or stain finish - please specify when ordering. Also available upholstered - please inquire for current upholstery options. SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED: In order to facilitate the most accurate shipping quote on Hida pieces, the buyer will be invoiced directly by Hida for the actual shipping cost once ordered items have been fabricated. Buyer is responsible for all customs duties, fees and import taxes as well as the removal and disposal of packing materials. Please note that items must ship from Hida’s workshop in Japan, so local pickup is not available. Shipment insured through carrier only. Two Enlighten is not liable for any claims.
