Executed in white opal glass and chrome, metallized black, or brass frame, the 'PH 3/2' pendant's mouth blown white opal glass shades are glossy on top and sandblasted matte on the underside, softening the design and cast a harmonious, glare-free light that is the hallmark of Henningsen's design.

The 'PH 3/2' pendant light is part of the three-shade system developed by Paul Henningsen in 1925–1926. In this system, the metal shades are painted to ensure comfortable, uniform light distribution that is mainly directed downwards. Henningsen sought to create glare-free lighting and aim the light where most needed while creating soft shadows.
