Designed by the acclaimed Nendo Studio in Japan, the 'Tomoshi' (Japanese for "light") is a new offering in Louis Poulsen's portable lighting array.

Executed in a durable recycled polymer, Tomoshi's diffuser reflects a warm glow off the lamp's matte finish body. This unique battery-powered lamp includes a leather strap on top that allows hanging installations and brings a further tactile quality to the lantern.

Founded in 2002 by the Japanese architect and product designer Oki Sato, nendo design studio creates contemporary, human-centric designs that evoke feelings like nostalgia and humor. “Nendo” means modeling clay in Japanese, a reference to how the studio molds its designs to suit different clients and contexts. Nendo has infused its playful, minimalist style into the design of everything from chocolate bars and high-end furniture to major architecture projects like the Tenri Station Plaza CoFuFun in Japan.
