Earthgender
David Cressey
1970s Robert Maxwell & David Cressey 'Teardrop Sunburst' Pot for Earthgender Studio.
Executed in hand etched, glazed and textured earthenware. A very clean example from the short-lived and increasingly coveted design collective that only existed for a few glorious years in the early 1970s in Venice, California. Structurally sound and highly presentable. Retains original manufacturer's "Earthgender" signature on the bottom of the pot.
Sourced from a collector in Santa Monica who purchased directly from the artist.
Please note that this piece is from our personal collection and is currently being used by us as a pot; as a result, some additional age appropriate wear including water marks, mineral deposits and soiling are present. Pot has some hairline cracks but is structurally sound. Note that pot has been drilled, but drill hole has since been filled.
Some age appropriate patina, dings, scuffs and wear as largely shown and noted only for accuracy. Additional photos available upon request.
