1960s Sergio Mazza 'Gamma' sconce for Artemide.
Executed in nickeled brass and pressed (holophane) opaline glass. Made in Italy. This versatile midcentury wall light can be mounted with the light oriented either horizontally or vertically. The Gamma remains an iconic design by Mazza for Artemide that is sought after by collectors in the know.

Born in Italy in 1931, Sergio Mazza created numerous iconic designs for Artemide throughout the 1960s, from a range of lighting to fiberglass molded seating and other home furnishings which due to their limited production runs have become highly collectible with their clean lines and intuitive utility.
Professionally rewired for US electrical and accommodates one standard medium base (E26) 75 watt max LED bulbs (lower with incandescent). Please note this lamp retains it's original unmodified Italian backplate (3 7/16" diameter). Not UL listed, but possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee.
Wear consistent with age and use. One representative example shown in photos. Some age appropriate scuffs, dents, variation and patina noted only for accuracy as largely shown. Retains original unmodified Italian backplate.
