Originally created for a variety of midcentury interior designs in the lat 1960s, Alexander Girard's Metal Wall Reliefs have been thoughtfully re-editioned by Vitra in cooperation with the Girard family. Executed in powder-coated sheet metal or brass, the two hearts, snake, sun, and dove add a playful design element to any space.
 
Made to order. Available designs are: Little Heart, Interational Love Heart, Magic Snake, and Sun. The Sun design is quick ship. Lead time for the hearts is 6-8 weeks. Magic Snake is currently at 12 weeks or more. Please inquire for time-sensitive orders, as lead times may change.

Along with his colleagues Charles and Ray Eames and George Nelson, Alexander Girard was one of the leading figures in American design during the post-war era. While textile design was the primary focus of Girard‘s oeuvre, he was also admired for his work in the areas of furniture design, graphics, exhibitions and interior architecture. Girard brought a sensuous playfulness to twentieth-century design that had been absent from the austere aesthetic of classic modernism.
