Recognized today as one of the great masters of modern architecture, Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) was born in Kuortane, Finland. During a long and prolific career, Aalto designed buildings for almost all key public institutions, as well as standardized housing and private homes. One of the co-founders of Artek, Aalto left a legacy with lasting resonance.
 
'Chair 66' is Aalto’s version of the universal wooden chair in the tradition of classic kitchen and café chairs; its visible, additive construction logic is full of character and pleasing to the eye. The chair’s Finnish birch frame is both durable and lightweight, while the wide, handle-like backrest offers comfort and flexibility, making 'Chair 66' easy to move wherever it is needed.

Available in unlimited quantities in choice of six configurations: birch, birch/white lacquered seat, birch/black laminate seat, birch/black linoleum seat, all black lacquered and all white lacquered.
