Skagerak was founded in 1976 by Jesper and Vibeke Panduro, who took inspiration from their love of Scandinavian design and its rich tradition. Launched in 1982, the Drachmann chair was inspired by the Danish poet and painter Holger Drachmann. The design strikes a timeless balance between Nordic nostalgia and modern simplicity. Beautiful on its own and convenient as a comfortable seat at the table. Durable in all kinds of weather, the chair ages with grace, taking on a silver-grey patina. Available as well in a bench and executed in FSC-certified teak to the exacting standards of Skagerak.
 
Drachmann Cushions are available separately and custom-made to fit the Drachmann collection. Able to withstand wind and weather, the upholstery fabrics are Oeko-Tex certified, color and lightfast, as well as water and dirt-repellent and even mildew-resistant. The cushion dries exceptionally quickly, even after a heavy downpour, as the foam has an open-cell structure that allows both water and air to pass through. The foam provides a firm and comfortable texture that remains the same year after year.
