Gino Sarfatti Model #608 Wall or Ceiling Lamp for Arteluce c. 1971

 

Highly rare model #608 wall or ceiling lamp designed by Gino Sarfatti and manufactured by Arteluce, Italy 1971. This minimalistic and rare Sarfatti design is executed in off-white painted metal with a round bulb. The model #608 may be installed as a ceiling or wall lamp. Made in the 1970s, the #608 was a short production run for Arteluce (ref: Romanelli & Severi "Gino Sarfatti: 1938-1973, selected works" p. 419). The original Arteluce label is intact on both pieces.

Arteluce was one of the most innovative lighting design companies in Italy during the midcentury era. Celebrated in his time and beyond as an undisputed master, Gino Sarfatti's designs have been long sought after by collectors worldwide. 

 

Rewired for US electrical and mounts over a US junction box. Accommodates a single medium base max 60W equivalent LED bulb. New Tala "Sphere III bulb" included as pictured with each lamp. Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Contact us to facilitate. Some scuffs, dents, variation and patina as largely shown and noted only for accuracy. Please note only one representative lamp shown in listing images. Lamps present well as a pair.
