Executed in wood, metal, and fine upholstery, the Fauteuil Direction bears Jean Prouvé's characteristic shapes. The upholstered armchair is available with fabric or leather in a wide selection of colors. Originally designed as office furniture, the Fauteuil Direction's update opens up new uses as dining room seating, occasional chair, or desk chair.
 
Price is per item. Handmade to order in Switzerland. Clients may choose the upholstery options from Vitra's three fabric groups and two leather groups. This wide range of Vitra upholstery allows for highly customizable combinations. Bases are available in 8 color options, including a raw steel. Japanese Red, Ecru, and Deep Black are standard base colors. Premium colors are Bleu Dynastie, Bleu Marcoule, Blé Vert, and Gris Vermeer. The solid wood armrests come in natural oak, smoked oak, and American walnut. Hard glides come standard; felt glides are also available.
