For centuries, famed Hida artisans in Gifu prefecture have played a role in Japan's woodworking culture, crafting iconic bentwood furniture from sustainable local forests. Established in 1920, Hida Sangyo builds upon the Japanese heritage of craftsmanship and sustainability from their headquarters in Gifu, which remains one of Japan's leading furniture production areas. In addition to offering iconic designs from midcentury masters like Sori Yanagi and Enzo Mari, Hida produces contemporary creations from international designers such as Atsuhiko Misawa and atelier oï.
 
Part of Hida's collection commissioned to celebrate their 100th anniversary, the 'Kumahida' collection is designed to be visually sharp yet light and soft to the touch. Featuring a tabletop that is largely carved out, the resulting bevel along the perimeter produces an elegant composition when combined with the angle of the  legs. The dining table is expertly crafted using the finest materials available and to the exacting standards of Hida.
 
Price per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in choice of Walnut or White Oak and in choice of oil finish, please specify when ordering. Also available in smaller sizes - please inquire for details. Please note that the wood's grain, color and features vary from item to item due to the organic nature of the material.

SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED: In order to facilitate the most accurate shipping quote on Hida pieces, the buyer will be invoiced directly by Hida for the actual shipping cost once ordered items have been fabricated. Buyer is responsible for all customs duties, fees and import taxes as well as the removal and disposal of packing materials. Please note that items must ship from Hida’s workshop in Japan, so local pickup is not available. Shipment insured through carrier only. Two Enlighten is not liable for any claims.
