Large Robert Maxwell & David Cressey thumbprint planter for Earthgender. Executed in textured earthenware with a stunning brown coloration with glaze. A very clean example of an increasingly rare and collectible design collective that only existed for a few years in the early 1970s in Venice California.
Invisible original patched firing crack from at bottom of planter (see photo), which was sold as a second directly from the Earthgender studio in Venice in the early 1970s. Structurally sound and highly presentable. Sourced from a collector in Santa Monica who purchased directly.
Please note that this piece is from our personal collection and is currently being used by us as a planter and thus might have some additional age appropriate wear including water marks, mineral deposits and soiling. Please contact us for additional photos.
