Pierre Chapo 'L01 Godot' Daybed Handcrafted in Wood for Chapo Création
 
Pierre Chapo was one of France’s most celebrated modern woodworkers and furniture designers. His sculptural and organic forms combine French modernist refinement with a traditional emphasis on craftsmanship. Today his made-to-order solid wood furniture continues to be handcrafted in France at the Chapo Création workshop run by Zoran Chapo, who embraces his grandfather's commitment to simplicity, sustainability, sincerity and creation.
 
First designed in 1959 for author Samuel Beckett and named after his most famous work, Pierre Chapo's 'L01 Godot' daybed highlights the finesse and complexity of Chapo's work with the intricate yet solid wood joinery and the '48x72' assembly principle.  Perfect for daily use, the L01 Godot daybed is executed in either elm or oak wood and finished in a simple, natural oil of linseed and turpentine.  The design features four inset cylindrical legs and a plywood base with holes for mattress ventilation. The L01 functions as seating, a place to rest, or a guest bed.

Due to materials regulations, mattress not included. Chapo Création recommends a latex mattress with a thickness of approximately 4 to 5 inches). Please note that the wood's grain, color and features vary from item to item due to the organic nature of the material.

Buyer is responsible for all customs duties, fees and import taxes as well as the removal and disposal of packing materials.
