Poul Kjærholm 'PK52' Professor Desk in Wood and Steel for Carl Hansen & Son
The story of Danish Modern begins in 1908 when Carl Hansen opened his first workshop. His firm commitment to beauty, comfort, refinement, and craftsmanship is evident in iconic pieces designed by such legends as Hans J. Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Kaare Klint, Poul Kjærholm, Vilhelm Lauritzen and others. Now in its third generation as a family run business, Carl Hansen & Son maintains its legacy through skillful work with the highest quality materials, sustainably producing Danish design classics by past icons and influential new designers.
Poul Kjærholm designed the 'PK52A' Student Desk when the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts needed a number of tables for lecturers and students. Kjærholm developed a new table structure that showcased his mastery of both steel and wood. The tabletop is reversible, allowing the user to use one side for work and the other for meals or entertaining. The 'PK52A' Student Desk is also available in a longer size as the 'PK52' Professor Desk. An optional drawer in both desks offers elegant storage space, and both can easily double as dining tables.
Price per item. Available in unlimited quantities. Choice of oak with lacquer, oil, white oil, or black painted finishes. Prices vary. This listing is for the 'PK52A' desk with the drawer module. Please inquire for other pricing options.
Please note that due to the organic nature of the wood, slight variations in color or grain can occur and will vary from piece to piece. Swatches should be seen as a guide; samples may be available upon request. Kindly contact us for more information.
