‘Wheel’ Handmade Wall Clock by George Nelson for Vitra

In 1947, Howard Miller commissioned renowned American designer George Nelson to develop a series of clocks. The collaboration spanned 35 years, during which the team at George Nelson Associates crafted a remarkable collection of over 150 contemporary timepieces. While these clocks shared a distinctive feature of eschewing traditional numerical markings, they exhibited an extensive range of shapes, colors, materials, and designs.

George Nelson's archival legacy found its home at the Vitra Design Museum in 1986. In 1999, Vitra initiated the reissuing of Nelson Clocks, and today, there are over 20 models in production, from wall clocks to compact desk clocks, with occasional additions of new pieces to the collection. These authorized re-editions are crafted using wood, metal, and finishes of the highest quality.
