1960s Opaline Glass and Brass Chandelier Attributed to Mauri Almari for Idman. Executed in opaline glass and brass with white cloth cords. Highly reminiscent of Paavo Tynell's iconic designs for Taito Oy. An incredibly refined design that is quintessentially Finnish.
A contemporary of Paavo Tynell, the inspired work of Mauri Almari has made him an increasingly valued midcentury Finnish designer by discerning collectors of fine lighting.
Professionally rewired for US electrical with custom fabricated period style brass canopy for mounting over a standard American j-box. Each lamp accommodates 1x 60W equivalent LED bulb (lower with incandescent). Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Pendants measure 10" in height with a 6" diameter and are staggered with the lowest at 46", the middle at 42", and the highest at 37".
