Executed by accomplished potter Robert Maxwell in hand-thrown earthenware, glazed and textured with a signature geometric design around the top rim. A beautiful example of Maxwell's work throughout the 1960s and 1970s in Venice, California. Structurally sound for use as a vase or as a standalone piece of sculpture. Retains Maxwell's original signature on the inside of the bottom.

Robert Maxwell was a visionary ceramics designer and artist who created some of the most iconic pieces of pottery during the mid-20th century. Earthgender, his Venice-based collaboration with contemporary David Cressey, has been widely regarded as one of the finest producers of hand-thrown earthenware pottery by discerning collectors.
