1970s Gainey Mustard Yellow Glazed Ceramic Planter
Executed in matte mustard yellow glazed ceramic. A very clean and increasingly rare example attributed to iconic ceramics manufacturer Gainey Ceramics, circa 1970s. Drilled, structurally sound and highly presentable. Unmarked.
Gainey Ceramics has been in the business of manufacturing the finest quality hand-crafted containers for more than 40 years, spanning 3 generations. Gainey pioneered functional yet visually appealing plant containers, becoming the choice of professional architects, landscapers, interior and exterior designers throughout the midcentury era. A similar, slightly larger planter is available in a separate listing. Both present well together as a pair.
Local pickup in the Los Angeles area is available.
Please note that this piece was from our personal collection and was used as a planter; as a result, some additional age-appropriate wear including water marks, mineral deposits and soiling are present. Note a hairline crack is present along the underside of the pot, but piece is structurally sound. Five drill holes present. Additional photos available upon request.
