Rare 1950s Robert Mathieu perforated yellow metal and brass wall sconce. Executed in yellow painted metal shade with star perforations and polished brass hardware. A bright and sculptural wall sconce highly indicative of the iconic mid-century Italian designs of Stilnovo.
Robert Mathieu was considered one of the best French lightning designers of the midcentury era, active throughout the 50s and 60s. His increasingly rare pieces are still sought after by discerning collectors worldwide.
Accommodates 1x 60w equivalent standard candelabra base (e12) LED bulb (LED only). Professionally rewired for US electrical with custom period styled circular backplate added for mounting over a standard American j-box. Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Contact us to facilitate.
