Linear yet organic in expression, the P3 Lounge Chair and matching the P3S Chaise Longue by Italian designer Tito Agnoli are among the finest examples of mid-century rattan design. More than 60 years after their debut with Bonacina 1889, Agnoli's 1960s P3 series has been reintroduced by GUBI. Each piece is faithfully crafted in partnership with the original rattan masters and, for the first time, adapted for outdoor living (see separate listing).

Executed in a galvanized steel frame and handwoven natural rattan with a light honey-colored stain that deepens beautifully with age. Each piece is largely handmade and takes several days to complete. No two pieces are identical; their subtle variations reveal the rhythms of human craft. The weaving technique gives each surface its strength, flexibility, and character, ensuring that every piece can endure for decades and be repaired, restored, and cherished across generations. 

One of the world’s fastest-growing natural fibers, rattan is a renewable resource. The canes used in the indoor editions are hand-harvested and sorted in Indonesia before being woven locally, helping to minimize transport emissions and supporting regional craft communities. Over time, the fiber’s surface develops a soft patina, its honeyed hue deepening to reflect years of care and use – a living material that tells the story of those who use it.
